Page Setup:  Every time you open a New Page in Word, it opens with the same defaults.  Defaults are the basic settings that come with the package.  You can use Page Setup to change these settings using Margins, Orientation, Size, Columns, Breaks, Line Numbers, Hyphenation, and more.  Click on the little box in the bottom right corner of Page Setup to see the old Page Setup window that you remember from older versions of Word.
Margins:  When you click here, a list of Margin options drops down.  The icons on the right show the edges of the margins using blue lines.  You can change the size of the Top, Bottom, Left and Right Margins by clicking Custom Margins at the bottom of this list.
Orientation:  The way the Page is situated.  Do you want a Portrait (up-and-down) page or a Landscape (long-ways) Orientation for this document?  Most reports and essays you turn in will be Portrait, but you can use Landscape for many things as well, especially if the data is presented longer than it is tall.
Size: We usually use 8.5” x 11” paper, but you can use tons of different sizes, depending on what you are using the document for.
Columns: To break your page up into columns, highlight the text you want to put into columns and click the Columns button under Page Setup.  You can decide between several different styles.

Three Good Things

"If you have to support yourself, you had bloody well better find some way that is going to be interesting." - Katherine Hepburn

Most of us do have to support ourselves, but many people do not find their work to be enjoyable or interesting.  However, those who do enjoy the work they do can hardly call it 'work'.  The easiest way to a job you enjoy is not to find a career and try to make it enjoyable, it is to find what makes you happy and then figure out how you can make money doing it.

INSTRUCTIONS: Open a new tab, log into Blogger, and click New Post.  List 3 good things about yourself.  These can be personality traits (such as being outgoing or intelligent), physical attributes (such as being strong or having pretty feet), or things you do well (such as building things or typing quickly).  What careers do these things point you toward?  Now think about what career you dream of having.  Are these two career paths related?  Think how you could combine your strengths and your dreams.  Your blog title will be Three Good Things.  When you are finished, click Publish Post, and you're done!

Ms. Davis's Answer: I am very organized.  I am outgoing and I like to talk to people.  I have a lot of experience with computers.  A career that would be good for me is teaching.  My dream career is to be a rock star, but that does not align with my talents, so teaching is a great fit for me. :)

Please use complete sentences and correct punctuation and spelling.  Do not use all caps or all lowercase.

Dinner for Three

This is a popular party game.  If you could have dinner with 3 people, alive or dead, fictional or historical, at the same time, who would you have dinner with, why would you choose them, and (most importantly) where would you eat?

Ms. Davis's Answer: I would have dinner with Barack Obama, Gandhi, and my Dad, and we would eat Thanksgiving dinner at my Granny's house.  I would choose President Obama and Gandhi because they are both heroes of mine, and I would choose my Dad so I could see him one more time.  Plus he would think it was really cool to meet President Obama and Gandhi.

INSTRUCTIONS:  Open a new tab, log into Blogger, and click New Post.  Tell which 3 people you would have dinner with and where you would eat.  Your blog title will be Dinner for Three.  When you are finished, click Publish Post, and you're done!

Please use complete sentences and correct punctuation and spelling.  Do not use all caps or all lowercase.
